- reacts with scalp
- common one known as polythylene glycol (listed as PEG)
- ethoxylated carcinogens
- Occlusive (means to not not allow something to breathe)
- seals the scalp
- can lead to thinning of the hair
- Quaternary ammonium salt
- causes irritation
- kills bacteria and contaminants
- has some level of aggressiveness
- when combined with other chemicals it can cause problems
- Collagen is a key component in our bodies
- Molecule is too large so skin cannot absorb it (can be absorbed through ingestion)
- Not damaging, but does not do anything
- Brands use this ingredient to claim that they are strengthening hair, but because of reasons listed above, it is not true.

- Honey
- Olive Oil
- Green Tea
- Castile Soap
- Hot water
- Apple Cider Vinegar (we used red wine vinegar)
- Rosemary (we left out this ingredient)
- Herbal Tea

- Completely safe to accidentally ingest
- Adjust the Ingredients to your needs
- There is a transition period where your body is getting used to it, and it will feel uncomfortable, but the results are worth it
- The vinegar smell can be pretty strong, so let the herbal tea packet sit in it for quite a while
- Experiment with herbal teas to find a scent you like
